Naylor has invested more than £2.5-million in a new PVC manufacturing facility at its Cawthorne headquarters in Yorkshire. The new facility was created to support Naylor’s product development programme and will enable the business to launch new products aimed at the power, telecoms and rail sectors.
Requiring the expansion of existing manufacturing buildings and the purchase, installation and commissioning of two new PVC extrusion lines, the additional capacity was created in response to customer demand for an expanded Naylor product portfolio which would enable customers to purchase a wider range of products, particularly Class 1 & 2 Duct, from one proven and trusted manufacturer.
To support the facility, Naylor has also: recruited a chemical engineering specialist who oversaw initial line trials and has been appointed as Head of Process Development for the new lines; recruited an additional seven factory operatives, and delivered three months of training for key operators.
Darren Fox, Director of Engineering at Naylor, comments: “The investment in our PVC lines enables us to launch new product ranges and opens up markets which we didn’t previously have access to including power distribution, telecommunications and rail. Importantly, it also enables us to better serve our existing loyal merchant base as well as creating an opportunity for us to work more with national distributors and large scale end users.”
Trusted by the construction industry for over a century, Naylor provides a comprehensive range of high performance drainage, ducting, sewer and storm systems which are designed for use in civil and groundwork projects, and which support the development of infrastructure in many applications including highways, rail, power, utilities, commercial, industrial, housing, agriculture and public realm.
